    What it costs

Private filing is not an add-on. There is no privacy surcharge. You pay three things, and you see all three before checkout.

    CostWhat it covers
Starter package$99, one timeOperating agreement, preparing and filing your Articles of Organization, private filing, and a resolution to open a bank account
Wyoming state fee$100, paid to the stateFiling your Articles of Organization
Monthly planFrom $14.99 a monthYour registered agent, annual report filing, and a physical business address

Every company needs a registered agent. It comes with the monthly plan, so a plan is required at checkout. In the first year that is $99 plus $100 plus $179.88 on the Standard plan, or $378.88 in total. From year two, that is at least $239.88 a year: the Standard plan at $179.88 plus Wyoming's $60 minimum annual license tax per company, more if Wyoming assets are large.

What stays off the public record

Wyoming's Articles of Organization ask for the LLC's name, its registered agent, its mailing and principal office addresses, contact details and an organizer's signature. They do not ask for the names of members or managers. An organizer signs the filing, and a formation service can sign as organizer, which keeps your name off it.

Here is what that means in practice.

    Stays off the public record

    • Your name on the Wyoming formation filing.
    • Your name in the state's public database.

Does not stay off the public record

    • The LLC's name. Information on a Wyoming filing is public once filed, according to the Wyoming Secretary of State.
    • The registered agent listed on the filing.
    • The organizer who signs the filing.
    • The LLC's mailing address and principal office address. Whatever address is on the filing is public.
    • Other documents filed with the state, such as annual reports and amendments. The Wyoming Secretary of State treats everything filed with it as public record, including signatures.

    What privacy does not cover

Privacy here means the public record. It does not mean your name is hidden from everyone. The IRS, your bank, and a court order can still require your information. Banks see who owns the company. An EIN application must name a responsible party, and the IRS requires that person's name and taxpayer ID.

We say this plainly because owners deserve to know the limit before they pay. We do not promise that no one can ever learn who owns a company.

    Why owners choose Wyoming privacy

If you want your name off a searchable state website, a private filing does that for the formation record. It does not hide the addresses on the filing: the company's mailing and principal office addresses are public. This page is about Wyoming only. If you register the company in another state, that state can ask for more disclosures.

“I would highly recommend anyone wishing to start up an anonymous LLC to go with Wyoming LLC Attorney.”

    Questions

Is a Wyoming LLC from you really anonymous?

Your name does not go on the Wyoming formation filing or in the state's public database. We do not call it fully anonymous, because the IRS, your bank and a court order can still require your information.

    Does private filing cost extra?

No. Private filing is included in every package, starting with the $99 Starter. You still pay the $100 Wyoming state fee and a monthly plan from $14.99.

Can I open a bank account?

Every package includes a resolution to open a bank account and bank application support. Banks see who owns the company. Relay and Lili do not accept owners from every country.
