Wyoming LLC Attorney vs Rocket Lawyer: Which Is Better for a Wyoming LLC? (2026)

By Andrew Pierce, CEO of Wyoming LLC Attorney · Updated October 2026

Disclosure: Wyoming LLC Attorney publishes this comparison. Prices were checked on each company's website in October 2026 and are subject to change. Wyoming LLC Attorney is not a law firm, does not give legal advice, and is not affiliated with any government or state agency.

Wyoming LLC Attorney is the better fit if you want your name kept off the public filing, an anonymous holding company (a setup Wyoming owners use for asset protection), and one package and one monthly plan rather than a membership plus separate charges. Rocket Lawyer is the better fit if you want a yearly legal subscription that covers many business matters. Service for service, Rocket Lawyer Pro costs $1,842 over three years against $858.64 at Wyoming LLC Attorney, and $3,110 against $1,338.40 over five. Pro also includes unlimited documents and e-signatures, unlimited written attorney answers, and live consults, which that total does not count.

This guide compares the two on privacy, asset protection, holding companies, cost, filing time, your registered agent, annual reports, setup, forming from outside the US, and attorney access. Prices were checked on October 19, 2026.

What matters most when you form a business entity in Wyoming

Owners choose Wyoming for privacy, asset protection, low state fees, and simple upkeep, and many are building more than one entity. Compare services on these nine points:

    1. Keeping your name off the state filing
    2. Protecting your assets, and growing into a holding company
    3. What your Wyoming entity really costs over three and five years, not just on day one
    4. How fast your filing is submitted
    5. Your registered agent and business address
    6. Filing your annual report every year
    7. How easy setup is, and who helps you
    8. Forming from outside the US without an SSN
    9. Access to a licensed business attorney

Keeping your name off the Wyoming filing

Privacy is one of the main reasons owners form in Wyoming. Information on a Wyoming filing "will be public upon filing," according to the Wyoming Secretary of State. The Articles of Organization do not ask for members or managers, but they are signed by an organizer, so whoever files for you decides whose name goes on the record.

How Wyoming LLC Attorney keeps your name private

Wyoming LLC Attorney acts as the organizer on the Wyoming LLCs it forms, so its name goes on the filing instead of yours. In its words: "Only the organizer of the company, which is us, is known to the Secretary of State. Your name does not appear on the formation documents." (Form a Wyoming LLC). Anonymous and private filing is included in every package, starting with the $99 Starter, and its privacy page states: "Every WY LLC we file is private." Keeping your name off the state filing does not keep it from banks, the IRS, or a court that requires it.

How Rocket Lawyer handles anonymous LLCs

Rocket Lawyer's LLC page and Wyoming guide list no anonymous or private filing option. The Wyoming guide does say that using a registered agent gives "an extra layer of privacy." That is a real benefit, and a different thing from keeping your name off the Articles of Organization.

    Which to choose for privacy

Wyoming LLC Attorney is the choice if you want your name off the state filing. As one customer put it:

“I would highly recommend anyone wishing to start up an anonymous LLC to go with Wyoming LLC Attorney.”
    — Wayde Stallard, Trustpilot, November 1, 2024

Protecting your assets, and growing into a holding company

Many owners form in Wyoming for asset protection, often by using a holding company: one parent LLC that owns other LLCs, frequently one per property, business, or asset (Wyoming LLC Attorney). Wyoming's charging-order protection is a core reason the structure is built there. The service you pick should support the whole holding-company filing and keep the parent entity private.

How Wyoming LLC Attorney handles asset protection and holding companies

Wyoming LLC Attorney files Wyoming holding companies, including anonymous holding companies, where a private Wyoming holding LLC is the listed owner of your operating LLC (Anonymous Holding Company). It guides you through the setup steps and provides resources built for it; it does not give legal advice, act as your law firm, or design a legal structure for you. Its International+ package ($399) includes one foreign entity filing or one subsidiary, and a company on its $49.99/month Virtual Office+ plan can form one subsidiary for the state fee alone. Each company keeps its own compliance plan. Trusts are not part of any plan; a trust consultation is booked separately. Its sister brand, LLC Attorney, forms companies in all 50 states. See also our guide to holding company formation services and comparison with ZenBusiness.

How Rocket Lawyer handles holding companies and asset protection

Rocket Lawyer makes the first registration free with a membership and charges $99 plus the state fee for each additional registration. We found no holding-company package and no anonymous filing option on its LLC page. Its estate-planning page lists a will and a living trust as documents. We found no Wyoming asset-protection trust service on that page. It also lists registered agents in all 50 states, which helps if your subsidiaries sit in many states.

Which to choose for asset protection and holding companies

Wyoming LLC Attorney is the choice if you are building a Wyoming holding company, protecting real estate or other assets, or running one LLC per property, and LLC Attorney covers companies in other states. Rocket Lawyer is the choice if you want a will or living trust document alongside your LLC. One customer wrote:

“I wanted to structure my LLC's to be managed by my holding company, and Sarah Curren was extremely helpful.”
    — Rosalio Altamirano, Trustpilot, November 14, 2024

What a Wyoming business entity really costs with each service

Rocket Lawyer advertises the first business registration as free with any membership, excluding state fees. That is a real offer, and the membership is what pays for it. Every Wyoming entity needs a registered agent, and Wyoming annual reports are due every year (Wyoming Secretary of State), so the real price is what you pay once those are added, in year one and every year after.

Wyoming LLC Attorney vs Rocket Lawyer pricing by package

Assumptions: one LLC; prices before the $100 Wyoming filing fee; Rocket Lawyer at yearly rates.

    What these prices actually mean

    • Bundled vs tiers: Rocket Lawyer's essentials sit behind higher tiers and separate fees. Wyoming LLC Attorney's $99 Starter includes the operating agreement, the Articles prepared and filed, and private filing with Wyoming LLC Attorney as organizer.
    • Paid once, not every year: Wyoming LLC Attorney packages are one-time. Rocket Lawyer memberships are yearly, start with a free 7-day trial, and, per its terms, renew automatically. You can downgrade to a free account, but the agent needs Plus or Pro, so the table keeps the membership.
    • Every year after: Wyoming LLC Attorney's $14.99/month Standard plan covers the registered agent, annual report filing, and a physical business address for $179.88 a year. At Rocket Lawyer Pro, membership, agent, and report filing add up to $574 a year before the Wyoming tax.
    • Plus with self-filing: $249 plus the $125 agent is $374 a year, or $1,342 over three years and $2,210 over five, about $483.36 and $871.60 above Wyoming LLC Attorney's totals. That is not service for service, because Plus does not include annual report filing.

Three-year and five-year cost for one Wyoming LLC, service for service

Assumptions: Starter ($99) plus the Standard plan ($14.99/month) against Rocket Lawyer Pro ($349/year) plus the agent and $100 per report filing; two annual reports in three years and four in five; $60 minimum annual report tax; today's list prices; no EIN or card fees. Only Wyoming LLC Attorney's column includes private filing and a physical business address.

After the first year, Rocket Lawyer Pro costs $634 a year ($349 membership, $125 agent, $100 report filing, $60 Wyoming tax) against $239.88 at Wyoming LLC Attorney ($179.88 plan, $60 tax), about $394.12 more every year. Wyoming's annual report license tax is $60 or two-tenths of a mill on the dollar of Wyoming assets, whichever is greater. Rocket Lawyer's registered agent terms allow fee changes with notice. An EIN is extra on both sides: $70 at Rocket Lawyer on Plus and Pro, and included in Wyoming LLC Attorney's Professional package, which is $100 above Starter.

What a holding company costs, service for service

Each company keeps its own compliance plan. On formation fees alone, Rocket Lawyer can cost less for two LLCs: a $149 Standard membership plus $99 for the second registration is $248, against $399 for International+. International+ also covers a foreign EIN, an apostille, and a Certificate of Incumbency, and Standard leaves out the agent and annual report filing.

Assumptions: parent plus one subsidiary; fees before the $100 state fee per entity; ongoing costs per entity.

    Which to choose for cost

Service for service, Wyoming LLC Attorney is the better value for one LLC. It costs $858.64 over three years against $1,842 at Rocket Lawyer Pro, about $394.12 less every year after the first, and $1,771.60 less over five years, while including private filing and a physical business address. Rocket Lawyer's membership also covers unlimited documents and e-signatures and written attorney answers, which this total does not count; if you will use those, the comparison tilts toward Rocket Lawyer. For a holding company, Rocket Lawyer is lower on formation fees alone, while Wyoming LLC Attorney files the parent privately.

How fast your Wyoming filing is submitted

The IRS says to "form your entity through the secretary of state before you apply for an EIN" (IRS), so the formation filing comes first. In Wyoming, a company filed online "is active as soon as the online filing process is completed" (Wyoming Secretary of State), so any wait comes from the filing service's own queue.

How Wyoming LLC Attorney files your LLC fast

Wyoming LLC Attorney's website carries a guarantee: "Your filing will be submitted within 24 business hours or we'll refund your payment." Its online filing forms "take 10 minutes to complete." If you need your company the same day, its separate instant formation option ($249 flat plus the state fee) files a Wyoming LLC in 60 minutes during business hours, or the $249 fee is refunded.

How Rocket Lawyer handles filing speed

Rocket Lawyer does not publish a filing time on the pages we checked. We searched its LLC page, pricing page, registered agent page, annual report page, and Wyoming guide for a turnaround or a rush option and found none. That means we cannot compare its speed to ours, only its published terms.

    Which to choose for speed

Wyoming LLC Attorney is the choice if you want a published filing time backed by a refund: submission within 24 business hours or your payment back.

Your registered agent and business address

Every Wyoming business entity needs a registered agent to accept service of process (Wyoming Secretary of State), and "the registered agent must have a physical address in Wyoming" (Articles of Organization). That address is not automatically one you can use for your website, bank account, or mail.

How Wyoming LLC Attorney covers your agent and address

Wyoming LLC Attorney's $14.99/month Standard plan bundles your registered agent, a physical business address, annual report filing, annual meeting minutes, and five free mail scans a year. Its registered agent office is at 1309 Coffeen Ave in Sheridan, Wyoming, and every client gets a portal for documents and filings. The $49.99/month Virtual Office+ plan adds a unique Wyoming business address, a lease, phone forwarding, and unlimited mail scans.

How Rocket Lawyer handles your registered agent and address

Rocket Lawyer sells registered agent service at $125 a year, and only with a Plus or Pro membership; Standard does not include it. Its registered agent page lists agents in all 50 states, says the service renews annually, and says it will "forward all state legal documents directly to you." Its FAQ on that page says: "we do not allow our Registered Agent address to be used as your general business or mailing address." Annual report filing is a separate $100 charge on Pro.

Which to choose for your agent and address

Wyoming LLC Attorney is the choice if you want one plan that covers your registered agent, a physical business address, and your annual report, instead of a membership tier plus separate charges for the agent and the report. Rocket Lawyer is the choice if you need agents in many states under one account.

Staying in good standing every year

Wyoming annual reports "are due every year on the first day of the month in which the company was filed" (Wyoming Secretary of State), with a license tax of at least $60 (fee schedule). An LLC that falls behind can be dissolved by the state, which puts the liability protection you formed it for at risk.

How Wyoming LLC Attorney keeps you compliant

Wyoming LLC Attorney files your annual report as part of every compliance plan, starting with the $14.99/month Standard plan. You pay the state's license tax, which starts at $60. The plan also prepares annual meeting minutes, so your company records stay in order.

How Rocket Lawyer handles annual reports

Rocket Lawyer's annual report page offers filing for $100 with a Pro membership, excluding state fees. Standard and Plus do not include it. The $100 is per filing, and the state's license tax is separate.

Which to choose for ongoing compliance

Wyoming LLC Attorney is the choice if you want your annual report filed every year without a separate per-report charge.

Setting up your Wyoming entity and who helps you

Forming on your own means checking name availability, completing the Articles of Organization, getting your registered agent's consent, and tracking your annual report date (Wyoming Secretary of State). The easiest service takes those steps off your plate.

How Wyoming LLC Attorney makes setup easy

Wyoming LLC Attorney's online filing forms "take 10 minutes to complete," and its team answers the phone at +1-307-683-0983. After formation, a client portal keeps your documents and filings in one place. The team mails your change of registered agent form the same day.

    How Rocket Lawyer handles setup

Rocket Lawyer is a large platform built around a document library and e-signatures, and its footer links to mobile apps. Its LLC page invites you to begin registration in minutes, and it lists phone, chat, and email support on its pricing page and LLC page, with phone help Monday to Friday, 6am to 6pm PT. Its Wyoming page is a how-to guide for forming an LLC in the state. The platform is a strength if you will handle contracts and other paperwork there too.

Which to choose for an easy setup

Wyoming LLC Attorney is the choice if you want a form its site says takes 10 minutes and a team on the phone for filing questions. Rocket Lawyer is the choice if you want one account for your formation and your wider legal paperwork.

“It was such a pleasure working with Victor on the phone today setting up my LLC.”

“Amazing phone support and assistance during and after sign up. Very organized web portal and interface. Good all the way around. And best of all not pushy, just informative.”

Forming a Wyoming LLC from outside the US

Wyoming's Articles of Organization ask for no owner information, so you can form from outside the US. The EIN is harder: the IRS online application requires the responsible party's SSN or ITIN, and applicants whose principal place of business is outside the US "apply by phone, fax or mail" (IRS).

How Wyoming LLC Attorney helps non-US owners

Wyoming LLC Attorney's International+ package ($399, paid once) includes a foreign EIN, an apostille, and a Certificate of Incumbency. For banking, "You do not have to travel to the USA or have a SSN," Wyoming LLC Attorney says, and when it forms your LLC it prepares and submits your business bank application to its partner bank. The bank makes the final decision, and partner banks cannot accept owners from some countries. The IRS sets how long an EIN takes for applicants without an SSN.

How Rocket Lawyer handles EINs without an SSN

Rocket Lawyer charges $70 for an EIN on Plus and Pro; Standard does not include it. We found no page that describes how it handles EIN applications from people without an SSN, and no bundled foreign EIN or bank application support.

Which to choose for forming from outside the US

Wyoming LLC Attorney is the choice if you have no SSN, because its International+ package includes the foreign EIN and it submits your bank application for you; the bank decides, and partner banks cannot accept owners from some countries.

“for someone outside of the USA this was insanely easy, extremely well done and great information online, via email and via phone.”
    — Perr, Trustpilot, February 25, 2026

Getting answers from a business attorney

You do not need a lawyer to file a Wyoming LLC; the Wyoming Secretary of State accepts filings online. Questions about taxes, adding owners, or asset protection can still come up after you form.

How Wyoming LLC Attorney connects you with attorneys

Access to an attorney is part of every Wyoming LLC Attorney package, starting with the $99 Starter. You can book a consultation with a licensed business attorney, including attorneys admitted to practice in Wyoming. The attorneys work at their own law firms, which are not affiliated with Wyoming LLC Attorney, and each sets their own fees. Any terms for a consultation are between you and the attorney's firm. Wyoming LLC Attorney is not a law firm and does not give legal advice.

How Rocket Lawyer handles legal questions

Legal help is the core of Rocket Lawyer's membership, and it is broader than Wyoming LLC Attorney's. Every plan includes written attorney answers within one business day: 12 on Standard, 36 on Plus, unlimited on Pro. Live consults are not included on Standard, capped at 12 on Plus, and included on Pro; its FAQ describes a 20-minute call. Legal advice sessions are an add-on on every plan at $149 for 30 minutes or $249 for 60 minutes (membership details).

Which to choose for attorney access

Rocket Lawyer is the stronger choice if you want ongoing legal help across many business matters, because its membership is built for that. Wyoming LLC Attorney is the choice if you want to be able to book a consultation with an independent licensed business attorney about your Wyoming entity, at the attorney's own law firm, with access to book that consultation in the package that forms your LLC; the attorney's firm sets its own fee.

Wyoming LLC Attorney or Rocket Lawyer: which should you choose?

Here is who wins on each point. On the factors that matter most for a Wyoming entity, Wyoming LLC Attorney comes out ahead; Rocket Lawyer wins if you want a broad legal subscription for many business matters.

Our conclusion, as the publisher of this comparison: for people forming a Wyoming business entity who want privacy, a holding company, or bundled upkeep, Wyoming LLC Attorney is the better choice and the better value. It keeps your name off the filing, files anonymous holding companies (Rocket Lawyer lists no anonymous filing option), submits within 24 business hours or refunds your payment, and bundles your registered agent, business address, and annual report into one plan, for about $394.12 a year less than Rocket Lawyer Pro after the first year. If you want one membership for legal documents and attorney questions across your whole business, Rocket Lawyer is the stronger choice. Wyoming LLC Attorney holds a 4.5 out of 5 company-wide rating from more than 900 reviews on Trustpilot (checked October 19, 2026).
